Canon EOS 60D is a mid-level DSLR. It is not as cheaply made as the Canon T2i/550D. And, it does not have the full frame sensor that the Canon 5D Mark III. The 60D, the T2i/550D and the all use the same sensor. It is a 1.6x crop factor sensor that produces 18MP pictures. In comparison, the Canon 5D Mark III uses a 1.0x full frame sensor.
The 60D at 2500 ISO is disappointing in image quality and noise. The new Canon EOS 70D Digital SLR Camera is great for close ups because with the 3X crop built-in, my 70-200 becomes an incredible 210-600mm 2.8 IS. The sensor crop gives an additional 1.6. It’s not the same as a zoom, but it functions in a similar way.

We recommend SanDisk brand of SD cards. The 60d re-quires that you use a Class 6 or higher for video, but a 16GB-32GB, Class 10 SanDisk is the optimal card. A 16GB card will hold 44 minutes of 1080p HD video. 3. Push lever and open battery compartment. Gently slide battery in and close door. ***Do not touch the back glass of lens OR mirror/sensor
The 60D is probably best understood as a 'super Rebel.'. It's a more comfortable, more flexible, and faster-to-use version of Canon's justly popular entry-level DSLRs. The twin dial controls, better grip, and bigger viewfinder will delight stills shooters while the articulated screen and movie control will please would-be videographers.
1. A DSLR camera. 2. A timer device (available from the link above, for your make of camera). My camera is a Canon (click this link to learn more about the Canon cameras – opens in a new window), and so I use the timer displayed above (Aputure Timer), which works perfectly and is very easy to use.
