When you are at or near the amount needed, try to pick jobs that take you to or near your chosen location. Then drive over to the garage you want and buy it. Perform more jobs until you can afford a new Iveco Truck and hire a driver for it (89,100 + 1,500 = 90,600 euros for a truck plus driver).
Regarding driving other vehicles, you just need to download and then install them from a web site. There are a lot more available for ETS2 than ATS but there are a few I have seen for ATS. Cars and buses, cars you just drive and nothing else but the buses have extra mods which add passengers so you can pick up and deliver passengers.

Watching many American (and people from European Countries too) stream the game on Twitch.tv what I noticed is that many of them really struggled to come to grips with driving on the opposite side of the road from where they normally drive and so the game would if you stuck to driving in the UK portion of the game maybe help a person to ingrain
Go to the pause menu (ESC on Keyboard or Start on a PS/Xbox control) and find Truck dealers. Click on MOD dealers and the car should show. Buy the car as you would a truck and change at your HQ.

It's been a few years, but SCS has done a small teaser of a Coach Bus DLC for ETS2 at some point, but it's on the back burner still.
