P040300 exhaust gas recirculation circuit intermittent. took the plunge and replaced the EGR valve. within a day or 2 the car faulted again, same symptoms. However, whilst a day or 2 more passed while I took it back the garage I had a low coolant light come on.
Coolant Water Pump replacement, DIY 2.0L TFSI. Pics of my removal (quattro, but likely same for 2.0L) A6 C7, 2013 P+. Having owned a B7 RS4 prior to this car I speak from experience. DI engines have MORE buildup on the intake valves due to not having fuel spray on them when running. Audi uses variable cam timimg as an EGR feature and lets some of the unburnt gasses back up into the intake by doing this. Seafoam wont do anything to get the carbon off the valves.

6 Post (s) P0408-00 fault code - EGR – 22-12-2016, 03:56 PM. Hi All, I have a Golf 2011 1.6 TDI it has decided to put the MIL lamp on and go in to limp home mode with fault code P0408 - 00 logged. After a read round this looks like EGR fault costing between £600 > £1000 to sort out (2 days before Xmas)

I bought a 2016 A6 Allroad (218PS) in Feb and have had no issues with it since then - until now.. (It was only a matter of time, it's done 86k miles..).
